Condition Condition Condition

When determining the value of a coin or paper currency, one of the important factors is the condition of the item.

When you find a coin that looks like it got run over by a car that’s usually the case. It by no means increases the value -it destroys the value.

When it comes to Paper Money when someone wrote on there -“love mom”that means she loved you, but the paper currency no longer has any value except to keep it for sentimental reasons or cash it in.

Look at it this way. If you were collecting currency, would you want something that was folded up ,had magic marker on it and stains or would you want a pristine Bill?

By the same token, would you prefer a lightly circulated or uncirculated coin, or one that is scratched, corroded or cleaned?

If a coin or currency is hundreds of years old, but has all of these mitigating factors the value will be substantially reduced and may become just a face value coin or currency.
